Hi Master, Does this platform also serves to cushion vertical hits due to irregular terrain?
If I know the road will be bumpy I also place a 3-inch high block of sponge underneath the same size as the mount

Brilliant. Driving with a cake is my biggest nightmare…short of carrying a really heavy cake up a steep set of narrow stairs…that’s worse. But this will at least ease my mind a bit.
