From an afternoon sugar crab to a full samurai centrepiece, sculpt pastillage with confidence.

Pastillage is the sculptor’s sugar: firm, fast-drying and strong enough to hold a pose. You’ll begin with small, forgiving creatures, a sugar crab and a crocodile, where you can learn to judge paste consistency, keep surfaces smooth, weld joins invisibly and bring a piece to life with airbrushing and painted detail, all in an afternoon.
Next comes Serdar’s signature half-body modelling method, first on a sugar horse, then on the Wall Street bull, before you apply it to full scenes with the prancing horse landscape cake and the camel beside a 3D pyramid and palm tree. From there you step into human figures, starting with the simple Simon and Simone figurines staged in three different settings, then the Indian snake charmer with his cobra, basket, carpet and turban.
The final stretch is pure showpiece work: the many-part trishaw with its wheels, canopy and modelled driver, then the samurai warrior built over an internal structure with a sculpted face, layered clothing and airbrushed armour. Ideal for hobby decorators who want to model freehand without moulds and professionals adding showpieces to their range, this pathway leaves you able to sculpt animals and figures in pastillage and assemble them into a finished, display-ready centrepiece.
