From a free sugar gazebo to castles, swans, dragons and a spiralling staircase centrepiece.

This pathway builds your fairytale skills piece by piece, starting with the free sugar gazebo topper so you can get a feel for rolling, drying and assembling pastillage parts that stand strong yet look delicate. From there you’ll model a dreamy rearing unicorn on a tree scene, then construct a sugar fairytale castle topper and the horses and carriage centrepiece that partners with it beautifully.
Next comes scene building on a larger scale. You’ll shape and light a 3D toadstool cake complete with fairy, vines and pond, make a gazebo and doves wedding cake with its own piping and ribbon work, and craft four swans pulling a pearly seashell carriage. A spooky chocolate castle then introduces internal construction, rocks, sea and jetty, before you plan and assemble a spiralling staircase winding around a central pillar — the tutorial that brings your castle and carriage together into one storybook wedding cake.
The final projects are your showpieces: an oriental dragon and phoenix in modelling chocolate with a Double Happiness topper, a medieval castle cake with a gravity-defying dragon breathing flames, and a three-day pumpkin horse and carriage with modelled horses, wheels and curtains. It suits decorators who are already comfortable coating a cake and now want to sculpt, plan and stage a whole fantasy world. By the end you’ll be able to design and deliver a wedding or birthday centrepiece straight out of a storybook.
